The Power of Humor in Contemporary Art

Words cannot convey the feelings and emotions I have wanted to express.  We’ve all been bombarded with emails from so many worthy organizations that need our financial help… I didn’t want to in any way make light of the situation. That said I feel a tremendous responsibility to the gallery’s artists to support them and to you my good friends and collectors who have gotten such pleasure from their work.

This is always my favorite time of the year.  Artwork starts to arrive and the new season is on the horizon. At the same time I’ve been concerned that this year will be different and that I might need to tamp down my expectations. But guess what?  I’m happy to say new work is arriving daily, and it is fantastic. Our artists have been using this time to be more creative and productive than ever.

Until the gallery opens its doors, I will be writing a series of “thematic” updates every week to 10 days, featuring a few artists at a time. This week’s theme is humor-what we now need more than ever!
