Gallery owner Marla Rice was interviewed on Cape Cod Community Radio WOMR to speak about her new, virtual art show: Making Waves: Artists Speak Out. Marla was joined by artists Julie Levesque, Ellen LeBow and Steven Skollar, who are all featured in the online exhibit. Here is an excerpt from the interview on Marla’s inspiration for curating this timely and impactful show.
Marla states that she wanted to “make a statement right before the election…Many of my artists, as you can imagine, were effected by the pandemic, effected by the times, effected by the election and collectors were coming in and asking those kinds of questions like ‘how are your artists doing? Has their work been effected?’ and all of a sudden I just put it altogether and decided to have this show…and I decided the best way to reach the biggest audience was to go virtual with this [show], which also enabled me to invite artists that I don’t normally represent because there really was no limit.”
